About McLean Events

McLean Events brings people in industry together, to 'Talk Business' and is a pioneer of innovative ideas, promoting the development of new events, utilising its unique meetings based concept. The company was founded in 1996 by Nick Needs, former Development Director of Blenheim Exhibitions PLC Group, the world's largest independent exhibition organiser of its time.

Meeting face to face is quite simply the most effective way for any business discussion to take place and is the primary factor behind all events staged by McLean Events. An exceptional venue, a high profile group of delegates and the means to effect positive relationships between people, are the core ingredients.

The first event staged by McLean Events was ERPEC'97 for the retail petroleum industry. At the time the meetings based programme promoted by McLean Events was totally unique and for the first time it was the buyers who received fully serviced meetings facilities and a certain degree of VIP treatment.

To this day, whether you are a small organisation or possibly even the largest, everyone has equal opportunities to benefit from a 'McLean' event because of the cost effective entry price for suppliers, making it possible for all most anyone to consider taking part.

In ten years, over 25 new events, in 10 industry sectors, have been launched either by McLean Events or it's partners, affiliates, friends and even Nick's family, replicated in several places worldwide, utilising the McLean Events proven formula for success.

  • erpec 11, "You'll have to wait"

    With 200 delegates signed up and a month to go, the erpec team have put a waiting list in place for those suppliers yet to register. Event Director, Nick Needs commented, "It's obviously a very positive position for us to be in, given that we have more companies that still want to book, but it is also about maintaining the right balance between the retailers and the suppliers who wish to meet them. Having too many from one side can really upset the meeting scheduling further down the line.

  • Bidec'11 launches for major UK House Builders

    With design and architecture being very much on the event agenda during the last few years, a new event is to take place specifically for major UK house builders, bringing them 'face to face' for 3 days with all the leading players from the supply sector. Managing the project is Simon Needs, with over 30 years of experience in the building and supply sectors, who will embark on a 3 month research with representatives from both sides of the market, prior to deciding on dates, venue and conference topics although it is presumed that the event will take place in Autumn 2011.   • HOSPEC '11 - Sheraton Hotel Porto, 8-11 November 2011

    Following a tremendously successful event in 2010, which took place on the Spanish Island of Menorca, Porto in Portugal is the chosen place for hospec'11. Last year this innovative event for the Iberian hotel sector, taking place for the third time, the third time, came of age. Buyers from 45 hotel groups, architects and designers met with over 60 companies supplying equipment and services to the industry.
